Canada visa from Kerala: frequently asked questions

Is there a Canada visa centre in Kerala?

No. The nearest VFS Global Canada centres are Bengaluru and Chennai, and you visit once for fingerprints and photo (valid 10 years). Everything else is online and handled from our Kochi office.

How much does a Canada visitor visa cost from Kerala?

C$100 for the visa plus C$85 for biometrics (about ₹12,600). Visa Xpert’s all-in price is ₹17,500 per person including those fees and our service; the only extra is about ₹2,000 courier for passport stamping after approval.

How long does a Canada visitor visa take in 2026?

IRCC’s published estimate for India has ranged from a few weeks to a few months during 2026. We check the live figure with you on the day you apply, and recommend applying at least three months before travel.

Tourist visa or family visit visa – which should my parents apply for?

Both are the same visitor visa (TRV) with the same fee. Parents visiting children include an invitation, the child’s Canadian status proof and relationship documents, so we file it as a family visit. For stays longer than six months they can consider the Super Visa.

What is the Super Visa?

A multi-entry visa for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents allowing stays of up to five years per entry. It needs the child’s income proof, a medical exam and Canadian medical insurance. We quote it separately.

Do I need a Canada visa if I have a US visa?

If you hold a valid US non-immigrant visa, or had a Canadian visa in the last 10 years, you may qualify for an eTA (C$7) when flying to Canada instead of a TRV. We check this before you pay for a full application.

How much bank balance do I need for a Canada visa?

There is no official minimum. Show regular income and savings that comfortably cover the trip – roughly C$100 or more per day plus flights – and strong reasons to return: job, business, family or property in Kerala.

Is Visa Xpert part of VFS Global or the Canadian High Commission?

No. Visa Xpert is an independent consultancy in Kochi since 2015 with 8,700+ Google reviews. IRCC decides; VFS collects biometrics. We prepare, submit and track – no guarantees.
